In theory this is a good idea. It has long been a problem to leave children in group homes for their growing up years. However, even if the 2,000 families are found it may be difficult for them to accept the difficult behaviors that the STRTP children may still display.
We are working hard to make sure our families are ready to help these children, and that our STRTP homes have a program worthy of the needs presented by the children. We are also confident that we can make a difference in the lives of the children entrusted to our programs.
One of our employees said it best when she said, "With each new child that comes into our program I say to myself I could be this child's best chance to make it, and I want to be that person."
