The reason to focus on what you do is because what you do is all you can control. There's no point in talking about what anyone else does, because you can't control what they do. No matter how hard you try, the only person's behavior you can control is your own. Can anyone control you? Can anyone make you do anything you really don't want to do? People try - in any relationship people try to control each other, but the question is, does this help the relationship or hurt the relationship?
Remember, good choices are those that bring us closer to all the people we want to be close to. Bad choices tend to separate us from those people.
Now we ask the children to write a paragraph giving some examples of their attempts to control others and how others have attempted to control them. Lastly we evaluate how controlling worked for them.
