Making healthy connections is very difficult for our children, and in general for all teenage children. Spending time with family, boyfriend/girlfriend, joining clubs or teams, and especially being a part of a living situation that has 5 other children with their own needs and problems can be very difficult.
We spend time during the day in activity groups, discussion groups, completing every day things like chores, hygiene, medical appointments, and most of all we spend time evaluating how things are going. By law we have several areas we are to work on, and one of them is Social. We evaluate how each child gets along with peers and adults. In this way we help them make the choices that will bring them closer to the people they care about and enhance their love and belonging need.
