You know what good work is done when you see the children greet their workers, and look to them as leaders. Yes, there are bad days when the children give everyone a bad time - we expect some of that, but in general there is good will between the social workers, administrators and children.
We also work with county social workers - the people who place children with us, and partner with us to help the children make the changes necessary to find success in lower levels of care. We have always worked with the children to respect and work well with their county workers. We teach the children how to communicate with their workers, how to express themselves appropriately, to treat everyone as "for them" rather than "against them."
HURRAY FOR SOCIAL WORKERS/ADMINISTRATORS!
