Dr. Glasser helped us as he taught us how to build responsibility by evaluating behavior, deciding whether that behavior choice spoke well of us or not, and whether we got what we wanted by choosing that behavior in the first place.
The problem today is that this parenting takes time and patience. It was often easier to send a child to his/her room, or wack spank them, than to take the time to evaluate the behavior and the reason behind it. This is where the difficulty for the parent comes in, they also need to evaluate and ask themselves, "Am I teaching the values I want this child to learn?" and "Has my choice of behavior brought us closer together or pulled us further apart?"
The good thing about our agency is that we offer very good training and support to help you and your children how to do this.
