This is also a difficult time for the foster children. Some of the children have never been able to see their natural families and that makes them feel sad, angry, and jealous of those children that do get to visit natural family.
Often children are disappointed with the festivities because they were promised things that they never received, or they were given gifts that were later taken away for bad behavior or sold for the money.
We are thankful for all the volunteers that help make good memories, add joyful activities and help make things memorable. We are thankful for therapists who help the children find the good in their life, and come to rest with the fears, disappointments, and difficulties that could cause depression and anxiety.
So, it is true that there are some difficulties during holiday seasons, but with all of us working together our children will have a happy and joyous season.
